Democracy at Heart

This workshop introduces participants to a contemporary, no-blame approach to behaviour development and management, which is about developing children and managing behaviour with respect, compassion, love and fairness. Participants will understand the importance of adopting a democratic intervention style to guide children’s behaviour. They will learn to distinguish this style from the more traditional authoritative and “laissez-faire” approach. Negative behaviour, by nature, is difficult to manage, and adults look for logical, fast and easy consequences “to stop” these behaviours. Looking for democratic solutions that change behaviour is more effective! This workshop presents concrete strategies that turn these behaviours into positive ones with simple, yet effective tips and techniques. This approach will not only improve children’s behaviour but will also have a dramatic effect on how they interact, play, and learn on a daily basis.
